Are you an expert at handicapping?
Heck no, but anyone who CLAIMS to be wouldn't be sharing their information with the general public or even selling it - they would be ACTING on it! I am fairly educated about sports and sports handicapping and am offering my educated opinion in my pick of the day. If you think I'm an idiot and believe my picks are stupid, by all means, use my (mis)information and bet AGAINST my pick.
Where do you get your lines?
I use the lines that are available to me at the time of my pick. Sometimes they will be from the newspaper, sometimes from various online sources, but in general, they are meant to be actual lines that you should be able to find. I do not adjust lines based on the direction of my pick because there's no real point in being right on a number that no one could wager on anyway. In fact, my inaugural pick, Golden State +9.5 on 11/21/07 actually moved all the way up to +12, but on this site I will not change a line once picked even if it helps my selection. In that case, the extra 2.5 points didn't help at all because Golden State lost by 23. That's why there's always tomorrow!
How do I know your record is legitimate?
Well, I guess I don't exactly have an auditor presiding over the website, but I can tell you that the site began on November 21, 2007, and I will attempt to keep a running tab of my picks on the Free Picks Results link. There is no real reason for me to lie because I'm not guaranteeing anything. You won't read things like "Can't Miss 5-STAR LOCK of the DECADE" or "29-1 in the NFL over the past 3 weeks!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!" on this site. "Unbelievable" is right. If I happen to pick 4 or 5 in a row, sure, I'll let you know about it, but that doesn't guarantee the next day's pick.
Seriously, what's your angle?
There is no angle. Quite simply, Sportsbook.com provides a nice referral fee for those who get others to sign up and make a deposit into their account. It is a simple process, but there are only so many friends you can refer until you run out of friends. I started this site as a way to refer more people and give players a little something to think about before they make a wager. Hopefully, I will steer you in the right direction more often than not.
